At Kite we specialise in bespoke weddings for couples who are looking for a more personalised, informal experience in a beautifully restored 16th century pub. We always want to know what you’re most excited for on your special day and will try our hardest to cater for it.

We can also now host civil ceremonies throughout the venue.

We have a range of wedding packages; whether your celebrations call for hiring our whole venue out for your special day, or an intimate seated dinner in our private room, we can provide the perfect pub wedding for groups large and small. Full venue hire is for weddings between 60 and 100 guests.

Our Wedding Packages

Your wedding venue hire includes exclusive use of your chosen space with a dedicated private bar serving craft cocktails, premium spirits, local ales, and our curated wine list. For intimate weddings under 30 guests, The Marshall Room offers elegant 16th century oak beams and sophisticated dark green walls with its own facilities. Medium-sized celebrations of 30-60 guests can use The Marshall Room at full capacity or extend into our courtyard. Larger weddings of 60-100 guests enjoy full venue hire including our heated stretch tent in the courtyard garden, creating a relaxed festival-style atmosphere. All packages include licensed sound system for your music or live entertainment, and we can configure the space to suit seated wedding breakfasts or standing receptions.

Booking Your Wedding at Kite

We recommend booking 12-18 months in advance for weekend wedding dates, though midweek and off-season availability offers more flexibility.

Civil ceremonies can be conducted in The Marshall Room for intimate weddings. For larger ceremonies, many couples choose Hitchin Town Hall or St Mary's Church, both within walking distance, before joining us for their reception.

“The team made the wedding planning process incredibly easy and stress-free. They liaised with suppliers and communication was great. We had the option of having specific beer/wine/cocktails which was a lovely touch. The team also had wedding signage made for us in our particular style. These details made it so special and bespoke.

The venue is stunning, very modern yet very cosy and intimate which was exactly what we wanted. We were able to officially get married at the venue in their upstairs ceremony room which is beautifully decorated.

Our guests said the food was the best wedding food they’ve ever had and we certainly agree! We wanted particular canapés which the chef happily accommodated and it was all delicious. We also had the chance to meet the chef to discuss options for the main food and grazing table which was beautifully presented (and tasted amazing!). They catered to various dietary restrictions including gluten free, vegan and allergies.

We had live music and a dance floor area with the bar nearby which was perfect for the evening reception and party! There were so many drink options available and an amazing cocktail menu.

The staff on the day of the wedding were outstanding, incredibly helpful, attentive and friendly. They made sure all of our guests were looked after and ensured the day flowed perfectly.
